- Suzuki’s EV line-up to include 8 models
- Will introduce the first product in FY2024
- Expected to be the electric Access
Suzuki has announced its global strategy and product plan until 2030 and the Japanese brand has some interesting propositions in the electric sector. Although late to the party, Suzuki will introduce its first electric two-wheeler on 2024.
While multiple spy images reveal Suzuki testing an electric Burgman Street, we expect the first battery-powered two-wheeler to be the Access instead. Firstly, Access is a relatively more popular brand and also Suzuki’s highest selling product. Second, the Access is more affordable than the Burgman in its ICE form and hence, the electric version could also be positioned as an entry-level model below the electric Burgman Street.
Now, the manufacturer has also revealed that its electric two-wheeler range will include up to eight models by 2030. However, it does not plan to scrap its ICE vehicles anytime soon. Instead, Suzuki is looking at a 75:25 powertrain ratio in the next seven years for its fuel and electric portfolio.
It will be interesting to see what motorcycles Suzuki has planned in its electric range, but the possibility of an electric Gixxer is undeniable…
