- New Katana to be unveiled on 2nd October
- Will get supercharging
- Likely to be powered by a 700cc parallel-twin engine
Suzuki has finally revealed something about their upcoming Katana motorcycle in the third teaser. While the first two teasers only showed the Japanese inspiration, the third video did show the fuel tank of the upcoming Suzuki.
A close look of this fuel tank revealed the most important aspect – it resembles the Katana 3.0 concept bike that was showcased in 2017. The Japanese maker has also trademarked the name at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
This new Katana is likely to get supercharging as the patents drawings were leaked online a few months ago. The patent drawings show a supercharger connected to a middleweight parallel-twin engine. The patent also describes a dedicated intercooler system to cool the air from the supercharger. Rumours suggest that the bike will be equipped with a 700cc engine, however, there’s no concrete information to back this up.
Suzuki will unveil this highly anticipated motorcycle on 2nd October at the 2018 Intermot Show. Just like you, we are quite excited to see this legendary brand makes a comeback.
