Suzuki has unveiled two new ‘GT’ versions for its adventure models – the V-Strom 650 and the V-Strom 1000. Priced GBP 1,000 (Rs 85,524) over the cost of the standard models, the GT variants get three-piece luggage to improve their touring quotient.
The GT trim can be specified on any of the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 1000 variants, both road-focussed and off-road. For the extra money, you get a spacious 64 litre three-piece luggage including two panniers and a top box mounted on the tail rack. The GT trims also get a 12v socket to power the accessories. Heated grips are optional extras.
Suzuki updated the V-Strom range earlier this year, to meet Euro IV emission norms. Both the V-Strom 650 and 1000 are powered by V-twin engines, and feature low-rpm assist, traction control and ABS. The litre-class model additionally gets cornering ABS. Both are available in off-road XT versions with spoke wheels and hand guards. We expect the V-Strom 650 to be introduced in India during the 2018 Auto Expo.
