-Powered by a 776cc, parallel-twin engine
-Expected to be priced between Rs 10-11 lakh
-Launch expected in a few days
Suzuki is all set to launch the V-Strom 800DE adventure motorcycle in India in a few days. The Japanese manufacturer had showcased the V-Strom 800 DE at the Bharat Mobility Expo in the month of February and used the platform to gauge customer response and get a sense of the expected pricing. We think Suzuki might launch it between Rs 10-11 lakh, ex-showroom.
The V-Strom 800DE is powered by a 776cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 83bhp and 78Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the ADV gets a five-inch TFT display, traction control, ride modes and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The engine sits inside a new steel chassis that is suspended by an adjustable USD fork and a monoshock with a remote preload adjuster. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, shod with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres.
Coming to the styling, the design is inspired by Suzuki’s old adventure bikes like the DR Big. The bodywork mainly comprises flat surfaces and it looks quite purposeful. A blend of form and function if you will.
The V-Strom 800DE will be the company’s new big bike launch in quite a while. There’s a lot riding on the shoulders of the big ADV as it takes on the BMW 850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900.
