- Features a retro-style paint scheme
- Gets an Akrapovic exhaust too
- Standard model to be launched in India soon
Suzuki has launched a special edition of the V-Strom 800DE in Europe. It is called the Djebel edition and takes inspiration from the Japanese bikemaker’s yesteryear middle-weight offering called the DR 650 R Djebel. The new V-Strom 800DE Djebel comes draped in a retro-themed paint scheme of blue and white.
Apart from the new colours, the v-Strom 800DE Djebel edition looks identical to the standard model. Thus, the tall stance vertically stacked headlight with a transparent visor, and the rugged styling have remained unchanged. Powering the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Djebel is the same 776cc, twin-cylinder engine that makes 83bhp and 78Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The bike also benefits from an Akrapovic exhaust.
On the list of features, the Japanese ADV gets LED illumination, five-inch TFT, traction control, ride-by-wire, low RPM assist, bi-directional quickshifter, ABS, ride modes, and more. Its hardware includes fully adjustable Showa USD front forks and a rear monoshock. The brakes include dual front discs and a single rear disc mounted on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel combo wrapped in Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres.
In Italy, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Djebel is priced at EUR 13,900 (approximately Rs. 12.55 lakh sans taxes). Suzuki will launch the standard model of the V-Strom 800DE in India in February and we expect it to cost Rs. 10 lakh – Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
