Suzuki launched its latest adventure motorcycle in India, the V-Strom 800DE. It is now the Japanese brand’s flagship adventure motorcycle for the Indian market and if you are planning to buy one, then here are five things you should know about it.
Design
With practicality at the forefront, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE dons a rugged and purposeful styling. It gets a tall stance like a thorough adventure motorcycle should along with a vertically stacked LED headlight. It is topped by an adjustable transparent visor and gets a secondary beak below. Suzuki offers the V-Strom 800DE in three paint schemes – Champion Yellow, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, and Glass Sparkle Black.
Features
Along with the aforementioned LED illumination, the V-Strom also comes with a five-inch colour TFT display, a USB charging port, a drive mode selector, traction control system with Gravel mode, ride-by-wire, bi-directional quickshifter, ABS modes, low RPM assist, and the Suzuki Easy Start System. These electronic aids should make it convenient for the rider to get used to the bike before pushing it to the limits.
Engine
The V-Strom 800DE draws its power from a twin-cylinder 776cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 84bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm at 6,800rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Hardware
Suzuki has suspended the V-Strom 800 on Showa USD front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking duties are performed by a dual front and a single rear disc mounted on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel. These come shoed with block pattern tyres.
Price
The asking price of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is set at Rs. 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the Honda Transalp 750, BMW F850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900.
