- New teaser from Suzuki India reveals essential details
- Seems to ride on alloys and gets a conventional cost-effective swingarm
- Likely to debut this month
Suzuki India has been teasing its upcoming offering for the country quite a bit. And, its latest video teaser has been released which now reveals some bits hinting at the V-strom 250’s entry to India instead of the V-strom 1050 that we talked about earlier. However, it won’t be the same model that’s offered overseas, here’s what it’ll get.
The India-specific Suzuki V-strom will likely house a single-cylinder 249cc motor (borrowed from the current Gixxer 250) instead of the 248cc, parallel-twin mill found in the international model. This will help to keep the asking price in check as per the Indian market. Not to mention, the power figures too will likely be on par with the quarter-litre sibling.
As for the design, expect the V-strom 250 to take inspiration from its bigger siblings. Tall stance, secondary beak, tall visor and upright ergonomics are a few bits that we expect. Apart from that, the teaser has revealed that the new 250cc Suzuki bike will roll on alloys and gets a monoshock at the rear. Not to mention, disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS will be standard.
As for the pricing, you can expect an aggressive approach from the Japanese bikemaker since the Indian two-wheeler market is now growing and has quite some ADV options already. For instance KTM 250 Adventure, Benelli TRK 251, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS.
