Suzuki dealers across India have started accepting bookings for the V-Strom 650 which is expected to arrive in the last week of this month. The mid-capacity adventure-tourer can be booked for a refundable amount of Rs 50,000.
The V-Strom 650 shares its design language with the bigger V-Strom 1000. It gets the oval-hexagon shaped headlamp, small beak-like extension and cladding on the tank that lend it a distinctive look. The bike is powered by a 645cc, V-Twin engine that produces 70bhp and 62Nm. Suzuki has also equipped the adventure-tourer with a three stage traction control system and ABS as standard. It is likely to be available in two variants- standard and 650XT. While the standard bike is road-biased, the XT version is more off-road focused. It gets spoke wheels, engine protection and hand guards to boost its off-road capability.
The V-Strom 650 like the Hayabusa and GSX-S750 will be assembled at the manufacturer’s Haryana facility. The bike is likely to be priced around Rs 7 lakhs to Rs 8 lakhs. The Suzuki V-Strom 650’s biggest rival in India will be the Kawasaki Versys 650.
