Suzuki Motorcycle India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant V-Strom 650 XT. The updated model complies with the newest emission norms and it is Rs 1.38 lakh more expensive than the BS4 version. Here we list the top five highlights of the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6.
Design
Suzuki has retained the styling cues from the BS4 model, and the latest iteration of the middleweight adventure tourer continues to feature a vertically-stacked headlamp, beak-like front faring, a tall windscreen, knuckle guards and an LED tail lamp. While the design is appealing, the V-Strom 1000 inspired looks would’ve made the V-Strom 650 XT even more desirable. The motorcycle will be sold in two colours – Champion Yellow and Pearl Glacier White.
Features
Similar to the design, the feature list remains unaltered. Thus, the V-Strom 650 XT continues to pack a halogen headlight setup, semi-digital instrument cluster, tubeless tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels, dual-channel ABS, and a three-level traction control system.
Engine
The 645cc, 90-degree, V-twin, liquid-cooled engine gets BS6 compliant, although Suzuki Motorcycle India is yet to reveal its power figures. The Euro5-compliant model which is available for sale in the international markets, makes 70bhp and 62Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission.
Hardware
The cycle parts are identical to the BS4 model, and the new V-Strom 650 XR continues to use telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock to perform the suspension tasks. The anchoring setup comprises of twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back.
Price
The new Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6 has been priced at Rs 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 1.38 lakh more than the BS4 version. The price hike feels steep considering that the motorcycle does not get a styling revision or new features.
