The V-Strom 650 XT is the latest addition to Suzuki’s big bike line-up. However, within the brand, there’s one motorcycle that is priced very close to this middle-weight adventure bike. It’s the GSX-S750. We take a closer look on how these bikes stack up against each other.
Design
There’s just one common thing between the V-Strom 650 XT and the GSX-S750 and that’s the name of the brand they belong to. Rest, everything is different from each other. While the V-Strom 650 XT is an adventure bike, the GSX-S750 is a naked streetfighter. When it comes to design, both the bikes draw inspiration from their big siblings.
Engine
The V-Strom 650 XT gets its power from a 650cc liquid-cooled V-Twin that is known for its accessible torque. This engine churns out 71bhp at 8800rpm and peak torque of 62Nm at 6500rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The GSX-S750 on the other hand, is powered by a four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. This engine churns out 113bhp and 81Nm of torque, is mated to a six-speed transmission.
Cycle Parts
The V-Strom 650 gets gets three-level switchable traction control system and ABS as standard. The bike rides on43mm telescopic forks in the front monoshock with adjustable rebound and preload at the back. The braking duties are taken care of by 310mm dual disc at the front and 260mm disc at the back. ABS is standard. The motorcycle tips the scale at 213kgs, and with a fuel tank capacity of 20 litres, the bike can do around 400-500kms in one full tank.
The GSX-S750 is loaded with some good safety features. It gets a three-level traction control system and ABS. It rides on 41mm KYB inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. The brake setup consists of twin discs up front and a single disc in the rear, with Nissin callipers.
Pricing
The V-Strom 650 is priced higher than the Kawasaki Versys 650. At Rs 8.76 lakhs (on-road Mumbai), the V-Strom 650 is an expensive affair. But it is far better equipped than its Japanese rival. The GSX-S750 on the other hand is decentlypriced at Rs 9.72 lakhs (on-road Mumbai).
