- V-Strom 800DE launch by October
- Will replace V-Strom 650XT
- Likely to be priced around Rs. 11 lakh
Just a few days ago, we showed you the picture of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE that was spotted testing in India. Now, we have confirmed the news that the launch of this bike is slated for this festive season.
Suzuki dealerships have stopped taking bookings of the V-Strom 650XT. They have also been communicating with prospective buyers about the official launch of the V-Strom 800DE. However, the dealerships have not commenced any official or unofficial bookings of the V-Strom 800DE yet.
The V-Strom 800DE is powered by a 776cc, parallel-twin engine capable of churning 83bhp and 78Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. As for features, the V-Strom 800DE comes with multiple riding modes, a two-way quickshifter, traction control, and a five-inch TFT screen. The motorcycle has a 21/17-inch spoke wheel combination wrapped in Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres to credit its off-road ability. Suspension is sourced from Showa with a pair of fully-adjustable forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It also gets a decent ground clearance of 220mm and a seat height of 855mm.
When launched in India, the V-Strom 800DE could be the most affordable bike in the segment. It will go against the BMW F850GS and Triumph Tiger 900 Rally. This Suzuki will be assembled in India, which will attract lesser taxation.
