- Features new graphics and added crash protection

- Powered by a 776cc parallel-twin motor
Suzuki has launched the V-Strom 800DE Rally Edition in France and this model packs quite a few bits new and more than the standard model, that’s also currently offered in the international market only.
The 800DE Rally Edition has the same design as the regular trim but features a new crash guard wrapped around the front side fairing and an additional guard to protect the engine casing. The belly pan too seems different from the one you see on the base model.
The same 776cc parallel-twin motor powers the Rally Edition as it does with the standard model. The V-Strom 800DE dishes out 84bhp and 78Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Suzuki has plonked the motor in a steel tube and suspended the setup on fully adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear with preload and rebound adjustability.
The braking hardware for the V-Strom 800DE Rally Edition comprises 310mm dual front discs and a single 260mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in off-road ready Bridgestone AX41 hoops.
For rider aids, Suzuki has offered Suzuki Intelligent Ride System which includes Traction Control, Ride modes (A, B, and C), ride-by-wire, quickshifter, low RPM assist, and easy start as well. All these features can be monitored on the five-inch TFT screen.
In France, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is priced at EUR 12,798 (approximately Rs. 11.49 lakh sans taxes). Moreover, the standard Suzuki V-Strom 800DE was spotted testing in India a while back. So, the Japanese bikemaker is likely to bring the bike here. But will the Rally Edition make it to the Indian shores? Only time will tell.
