- Suzuki V-Strom SX adventure tourer launched
- Powered by the same 250cc engine as the Gixxer 250
- To be retailed via Suzuki Premium dealerships
Suzuki has launched its smallest sports adventure-touring motorcycle, the V-Strom SX, in India. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 2,11,600 (ex-showroom) and it competes against the KTM 250 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The new V-Strom SX is powered by a 250cc, single-cylinder engine with Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS). Notably, this engine has been developed specifically for the Indian market and it’s the same unit that does duty on the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250. It churns out 26.5bhp and 22.2Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Suzuki’s new entry-level adventure tourer also gets a bunch of modern features like a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster that connects with the rider’s smartphone and gives access to turn-by-turn navigation, alerts on incoming messages, calls, and WhatsApp, speed exceeding warnings, and phone battery level. It also gets a USB charging port and Suzuki Easy Start System. Furthermore, it gets a full-LED lighting system.
As for the design, there’s a clear inspiration from the bigger 650cc and 1,050cc V-Strom models, especially on the sides. The front beak, tall windscreen, angular side panels, muscular fuel tank, and long tail section make it look visually appealing and imposing. Interestingly, the headlamp seems to be the same unit that’s present in the naked Gixxer 250. The motorcycle will be available in three colour options including black, orange and yellow.
