Suzuki India brought its most affordable ADV to the country in the form of the V-strom SX. It’s priced at Rs 2,11,600 (ex-showroom) and rivals the KTM 250 Adventure, Benelli TRK 251 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. However, what sort of artillery does it pack? Let’s find out from these detailed shots.
With just one glance at the V-strom SX, you’d clearly notice that it takes inspiration from the larger siblings of its bloodline. The tall and upright stance, tall beak, windscreen and the overall design cues seem to be derived from the middleweight ADV.
Not to mention, the headlight seems to be picked up directly from the Gixxer and slapped on the V-strom, and we are not complaining. Suzuki has been generous enough to offer a rear luggage rack as well.
The V-strom SX is powered by the same motor as the Gixxer 250 – a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled motor – and it churns out 26.5bhp and 22.2Nm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Suzuki has also amped up the features list compared to its competitors. Apart from the LED illumination, you get a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster that lets us connect your smartphone. This gives you access to turn-by-turn navigation, alerts on incoming messages, calls, and WhatsApp, speed exceeding warnings, and phone battery level. You also get a USB charging slot.
The suspension setup consists of conventional telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking hardware on the V-strom SX comprises a front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
Suzuki offers a bunch of accessories as well. The list includes fuel tank pad, tank protection, accessory bar, low seat assembly and rim tapes.
The V-strom SX is available in black, orange and yellow.
