Ducati has put the 899 Panigale on sale in Malaysia for RM93,888 (approximately Rs 17.96 lakh). The motorcycle is assembled at the manufacturer's factory in Thailand.
The 899 Panigale is powered by a new 899 Superquadro L-Twin engine that churns out 148 bhp of power. The motorcycle is built around a monocoque chassis concept and features Ducati’s different riding modes, latest-generation sports ABS system, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick-Shift (DQS), Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES), Ducati’s new race-derived Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ride-by-Wire (RbW).
The Ducati 899 Panigale had made its debut at last year’s MotoGP race and it was then announced that Naza will be bringing in an ASEAN-assembled version by mid 2014. The Italian company has fulfilled their promise and introduced the motorcycle in Malaysia. As an exclusive offer, the first 50 buyers will be offered the motorcycle for RM89,888 (approximately Rs 17.19 lakh).
The Ducati 899 Panigale is the younger sibling of the 1199 Panigale superbike and provides riders with the thrill of riding a super bike while being able to use it as a street bike every day. Ducati is still not officially present in India making it difficult for a prospective customer to buy a Ducati motorcycle back here. We don't see either of the bikes going on sale in the Indian market soon, unless the brand makes an official entry in our country.
