- 2020 NMax 155 unveiled in Indonesia
- Gets traction control system, dual-channel ABS
- Powered by 155cc liquid-cooled engine
Yamaha NMax 155 is one of the largest selling scooters in South East Asian market, especially in the Indonesia market. For the 2020 version, the company has given this scooter some major aesthetic as well as feature upgrades.
The front apron gets a revised styling and now looks more modern. The headlights are sleeker and the turn indicators have been repositioned. The windscreen too, gets a new shape. The instrument cluster on the 202 NMax 155 is new, and shows a wide range of information. It sports Bluetooth connectivity, and has functions to show message and phone notifications along with parking location. In terms of features, the scooter gets a traction control system – something that we usually don’t see in scooters, ABS, start-stop system, keyless ignition and a charging point.
Powering this scooter is a 155cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected motor that produces 15bhp of peak power and 13.9Nm of peak torque. This engine is equipped with Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. It’s the same feature that is seen on the YZF-R15.
The 2020 NMax 155 will go on sale in Indonesia very soon. But unfortunately, it won’t make its way to India anytime soon, at least in the liquid-cooled engine format. There will eventually be a big market for 150cc scooters in the country, and we are sure to see some action from Yamaha in this space in the near future.
