- Guerrilla 450 to launch in a few weeks
-Classic 350 Bobber also close to production
-Classic 650 may be showcased towards the end of 2024
Royal Enfield is readying to launch three new motorcycles over the course of the upcoming months. With half the year already gone by and the company riding on the success of the new Himalayan 450, there is a lot more to look forward to from the manufacturer.
1. Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
Starting with a bike that is based on the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 is Royal Enfield’s new roadster. The bike has been spotted testing for months now and its launch is expected in a couple of months.
The Guerrilla 450 shares much of its frame and engine with the Himalayan 450. The 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine makes 39.47bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm in the Himalayan. Royal Enfield may tweak this engine’s state of tune and possibly the gearing to suit the bike’s application as a street bike.
It'll feature a simple design language. You’ve got a round LED headlight, the tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, or the small tail section that looks identical to the Himalayan’s.
However, unlike the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 doesn’t get a USD fork and makes do with conventional telescopic fork as seen in one of the spy shots earlier this month.. At the rear, there is a preload adjustable monoshock.
Royal Enfield is expected to position the Guerrilla 450 around Rs 2.3 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
2. Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber
The Classic 350 Bobber is based on the hugely popular Classic 350. As the same suggests, the Classic 350 Bobber is the ‘Bobber’ version of the Classic 350. So, you’ve got a single-piece seat, ape hanger style handlebar and white walled tyres for that period correct look. Expect Royal Enfield to come up with retro colour options, including cream and light green tones as well.
Royal Enfield recently patented the bike and it showed the Classic 350 Bobber with a pillion seat as well. This is likely going to be an option as is the case with the Shotgun 650.
Powering the Classic 350 Bobber is the same, 349cc, J-series engine that it has been using for the current lineup – Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350. The unit makes 20.2bhp with 27Nm and is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The Classic 350 Bobber will be positioned above the Classic 350 and priced around Rs 2.3 lakh.
The Classic 650 is expected to be one of the big launches from Royal Enfield and it might be showcased at the company’s annual festival, Motoverse in Goa at the end of the year. The Classic 650 will be the fifth bike on the company’s 650 platform. The other bikes are the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Shotgun 650 and the Super Meteor 650.
The Classic 650 has also been spotted testing multiple times in the past. A look at the spy shots reveals the design of the bike that’s very similar to the Classic 350. Everything from the shape of the fuel tank, the curved fenders and the stance of the bike gives it a very modern-retro appearance.
It will use the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine as in the rest of bikes in the 650 portfolio. This engine makes 47bhp and 52Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It is a gem of an engine and we love it for its refinement, performance and the sound from the twin exhausts. Expect the engine in the Classic 650 to continue in the same vein.
Royal Enfield is likely to position the Classic 650 between the Interceptor and the Continental GT and its asking price could be around Rs. 3.25 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
