Yamaha has revealed a compact electric three-wheeler concept named the Tritown. It sports two wheels at the front with the Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) mechanism.
The Tritown is propelled using a small electric motor at the rear wheel. The rider has to balance and manoeuvre by leaning on either side. Unlike most of the recent self-balancing concepts, the Tritown is moves forward via a twist grip. The three-wheeled concept is made to replace bicycles, for those can't be bothered with pedalling.
The concept has a light body, and should be easy to use in urban environment. The dimensions are small too; it measures 1100mm in length, 1130mm in height and 600mm in width. Although the Tritown is still a concept, we can expect Yamaha to launch a production version soon.
