We as Indians often look for eye-catchy designs and comfortable riding posture when it comes to buying a new bike for ourselves. Luckily, the cruiser motorcycle segment caters to all that and more. It not only makes a lot of heads turn, but is also low slung, which makes it quite suitable for the shorter riders.
So if you are someone who's looking out for a relaxed and comfortable motorcycle, then today we bring to you the top three affordable cruisers in India. Below mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai:
1. Bajaj Avenger Street 160 : Rs 1,03,379
The first on our list is the lean and stylish looking Bajaj Avenger Street 160. This cruiser motorcycle gets graphics across its 13-litre fuel tank and side profile. There's also minimal use of chrome. It uses halogen bulb in the headlight and LED in the tail section. To provide basic information it uses a combination of digital and analogue instrument cluster. Powering it is a 160cc motor that churns out 14.79bhp at 8500rpm and 13.7bhp at 7000rpm. All this power and torque is taken to the wheels via a five-speed gearbox. The bike is sprung on a telescopic suspension with a double anti-friction bush at the front and five-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking duty is handled by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear assisted by a single-channel ABS. It is available in two colour options: Spicy Red and Ebony Black.
2. Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 : Rs 1,26,675
The second most affordable cruiser again comes from the Indian automaker, the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220. The design of the bike remains similar to its smaller sibling. It uses halogens lights on both ends. However, a few changes like spoke wheels, pillion backrest, chrome elements, windshield and a 220cc motor are used to differentiate it. This 220cc motor produces 18.76bhp at 8500rpm and 17.55Nm at 7000rpm. A five-speed gearbox is used to transmit power to the wheels. The suspension, instrument cluster and braking hardware here remains similar to its 160cc sibling. The cruiser is available with two colour options: Moon White and Auburn Black.
3. Suzuki Intruder 150 : Rs 1,27,736
The final cruiser in our list comes from the Japanese manufacturer, the Suzuki Intruder 150. It is the most expensive and attractive looking cruiser on our list. The bike can be seen having tank extensions, an underbelly pan, dual exhaust tips and split seat setup and oval mirrors. To illuminate the road it uses halogen bulb and LED in the tail end. It also gets an all digital instrument cluster. Here, at its heart sits a 155cc engine that makes 13.4bhp at 8000rpm and 13.8Nm at 6000rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed unit. The ride here is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and swingarm suspension at the rear. For effective braking, it employs a disc on both ends assisted by a single-channel ABS. This cruiser is available in three colour options: Metallic Matte Titanium Silver, Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and Metallic Matte Black/Candy Sanoma Red.
