This might sound quite strange, but the onset of monsoons brings in a positive sentiment among two-wheeler buyers in the country, leading to a significant jump in the sales numbers. And unsurprisingly, a similar trend can also be noticed in the research patterns for two-wheelers. While our regular readers might notice that there hasn’t been any change in the rankings of the most researched scooters from the last month, there has been a jump in the traffic that these scooters have been attracting. Let’s see what story the numbers say –
Honda Activa 3G
The Honda Activa 3G is the top-selling two-wheeler in the country and continues to rule the roost when it comes to the interest generated among online users. Last month saw the traffic for this scooter experience a jump of 46 per cent which is quite a big number for a scooter. The scooter continues to attract the maximum attention from buyers in Mumbai, followed by Delhi and Pune. Honda recently inaugurated the second assembly line at the scooter factory in Gujarat, raising the overall annual capacity by 6 lakh units. This should significantly help reduce the waiting period on the Honda Activa 3G. This should come as a breather for those customers who were considering buying the Activa 3G but were disheartened by the painfully long waiting period for this scooter.
Honda Activa 125
The Honda Activa 125 experienced a more modest 25 per cent jump in traffic this month, though this was enough to help it retain its position. Again, users from Mumbai showed maximum interest for the Activa 125, followed by Delhi and Pune. The Activa 125 might not attract as big a following as its smaller 110cc sibling, though even those looking to buy this premium scooter stand to benefit from the increase in production capacity at the Gujarat factory.
TVS Jupiter
With the traffic experiencing a jump of 23 per cent, the TVS Jupiter narrowly missed out on the second spot on this list. Following a similar trend as the other two scooters on this list, Mumbai users showed the most amount of interest for this scooter followed by Delhi and Pune. Taking into account the popularity of this scooter, TVS recently launched a special edition version of the Jupiter equipped with a front disc brake and a few styling updates. This variant offers customers a more premium option for an additional Rs 4,000.
