Top 5 changes in the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2

Kawasaki has introduced a slew of upgrades for its flagship model, the Ninja H2, for 2019, making it the most powerful motorcycle currently in production. The motorcycle has been launched in India at Rs 34.5 lakhs, along with two other variants, the Ninja H2 Carbon and the Ninja H2R. We take a look at the top five changes in the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2 -

Self-healing paint

The Ninja H2 features a new kind of paint, so far not seen in motorcycles. The paint can heal itself of minor scratches and scuffs in a short time frame in warm ambient temperatures. This paint has been developed in-house by Kawasaki and is more advanced than the existing automotive paint that can take weeks to fully heal such scratches.

More power

The Ninja H2 continues to use the same 999cc supercharged inline four engine, although power output has gone up from 200bhp to 228bhp. With ram air, it can churn out up to 239bhp. Although there are no change in engine internals, the H2 does get a new air filter, intake chamber, spark plugs and ECU, all borrowed from the Ninja H2 SX sports tourer.

Better brakes

Kawasaki has also improved the braking performance with new callipers at the front. The Brembo Stylema sits above the M50 monobloc in the line-up. They are lighter, have better airflow and also have less of fluid inside the calliper. The only other bike to feature Brembo Stylema callipers is the Ducati Panigale V4.

New instrument console

The Ninja H2 also benefits from a revised instrument console borrowed from the H2 SX. The layout might look the same, but the cluster now gets a colour TFT display, giving it a fancier feel.

Rideoloy app

The new Ninja H2 features Bluetooth connectivity. You can pair your phone with the bike using the ‘Rideology’ app, which gives you access to vehicle data like fuel level, battery condition, riding log and updates about service interval.
