The buying frenzy has begun, thanks to the arrival of festive season. This will increase over the next few weeks, so will the spending. It’s not a secret that Indians love to buy new vehicles every Diwali and Dusshera and this year was no different. But the top sellers have seen a drop compared to last September due to various macro-economic factors.
1: Honda Activa
The Activa saw a drop from 3,22,922 units in September 2017 to 2,84,809 units last months. But just like every month, this brand topped the list of the highest selling two-wheelers in India.
2: TVS Jupiter
The Jupiter is the highest selling scooter for TVS. 90,738 units of the Jupiter was sold in September 2018. This figure was marginally higher a year ago at 93,573 units.
The Access 125 has been ruling the 125cc scooter space since many years now. With recent entrant of TVS NTorq 125 and the Honda Grazia, the Access 125 is definitely feeling it heat. But unlike the scooters in this story, the Access has managed to register a decent growth. According to SIAM data, 46,931 units of the Access were sold last month.
4: Honda Dio
The Dio is another good-selling scooter from Honda. With 44,397 sales last month, it managed to surpass Maestro which stands fifth in this list.
5: Hero Maestro
The Maestro brand is the fifth highest selling scooter brand in India. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer sold a total of 37,367 units last month.
