2018 has almost come to an end. The year was filled with some incredible launches of motorcycles and scooters. However, most of the new launches came from the premium side – bikes that costs more than Rs 3 lakhs. But the millions of research on BikeWale clearly suggest that the mass market rules the online research. Here, we tell you the top five popular motorcycles of 2018 on BikeWale.
Rank 1: Royal Enfield Classic 350
The Classic 350 tops the chart. In fact, it has been the most popular bike on BikeWale for the second consecutive year. The combination of modern-classic styling, great brand value and the big bike feel makes the Classic 350 the talk of the town.
Rank 2: TVS Apache RTR 160
The Apache RTR 160 is the most surprising entry to this list. The bike is old, but has been given new paints and decals. In fact, its modern sibling, the RTR 160 4V couldn’t make it to the spot even though it’s a new bike with new features. Probably, the competitive pricing made the old RTR 160 the second most researched bike on BikeWale in 2018.
Rank 3: Honda CB Shine
The CB Shine is one of the most liked 125cc motorcycles in the country. The traditional likeable styling, great fuel efficiency and cheap maintenance makes it the most sought out 125cc bikes. It goes up against the Hero MotoCorp’s Glamour.
Rank 4: Honda CB Hornet 160R
The CB Hornet 160R is probably Honda’s most successful motorcycle launch. It manages to lure customers through its aggressive styling, good performance and the Honda branding. Plus, the Japanese manufacturer offers this bike in some attractive colours, making it impossible for the youth of India to ignore it.
Rank 5: Yamaha YZF R15 V 3.0
The R15 has a cult following in India. This motorcycle is known for its top-class performance, great styling and handling. The R15 has been getting good numbers month-on-month for Yamaha throughout the year. Early next year, we’ll see a ABS version as well, and that will surely entice more buyers.
