The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers has released the sales data for November 2022. Interestingly, the report doesn’t show much reshuffling in the sales ranking of the products as compared to the last few months. However, the year-on-year transition for individual two-wheelers is worth paying heed to. In that case, let’s take a look at the five highest-selling motorcycles in November 2022.
5. Bajaj Platina
Bajaj’s entry-level commuter series, the Platina managed to clinch the fifth position with sales of 33,702 units in November. Notably, this is a combined sales figure for 100cc and 110cc iterations of the bike. On contrary to a majority of other motorcycles which recorded a hike in their year-on-year sales, the Platina witnessed a significant drop over the corresponding month last year when it had garnered 60,646 takers.
Similar to the Platina, the Hero HF Deluxe too recorded a drop in its y-o-y sales but the difference wasn’t as profound. It also slipped from third to fourth position in the ranking chart. While Hero had sold 76,149 units of the HF Deluxe in November last year, the figure came down to 65,074 units in the same month this year.
3. Bajaj Pulsar
The Bajaj Pulsar line-up collectively garnered 72,735 customers last month which was considerably more than last year’s November sales figure of 61,913 units. This bump also promoted the motorcycle brand from fourth to third position in the sales chart. This is a collective data of all the models in the Pulsar family, from 125cc to 250cc offerings.
2. Honda Shine
Continuing its long-running streak of being the second best-selling motorcycle in India, the Honda Shine fetched 1,14,965 buyers in November this year. This was a substantial increment as compared to the corresponding month last year when Honda sold 83,622 units of the 125cc commuter. However, the month-on-month sales of the bike saw a marginal drop; it had found 1,30,916 takers in October 2022.
The Hero Splendor doesn’t seem to be losing its popularity in India as it continues to lead the Indian two-wheeler sales chart. Hero MotoCorp sold 2,65,588 units of the Splendor which was not just substantially higher than November last year (1,92,490 units) but also slightly more than October 2022 (2,61,721 units). A majority of this number comprises sales of the Splendor Plus (100cc) while a small chunk is contributed by the Super Splendor (125cc).
