We recently rode the new Bajaj Avenger 180 on the streets of Pune and came back impressed. Here are the five things that make this entry-level stand apart.
Looks better
Yes! It looks like the now defunct Avenger 150, but there are a few subtle changes that make the Avenger 180 look good. The new headlamp, which Bajaj likes to call jewel-inspired has managed to enhance the overall styling of the bike. Then there’s a larger blacked-out windscreen which complements the new light unit.
Improved engine
Bajaj constantly works on its bike engines and it is clearly visible on the Avenger 180. There has been a marginal improvement in refinement. The NVH is well under control too. This engine is all about strong mid-range which makes highway runs and overtakes an easy task.
Comfortable
The low-slung cruiser setup has always been about comfort. But with the Avenger 180, it’s the right ride quality and the seat that have made it more comfortable to spend time on.
Not really expensive
Bajaj is asking for Rs 4000 more over the Avenger 150 which is a fair deal. You get bigger displacement, a better looking motorcycle and more comfort too.
Has more pillion focus
Bajaj seems to put in much thought for pillion comfort and it's paid off too. Other than equipping the cruiser with a large backrest which also acts as a grab rail, the Pune-based manufacturer has also placed a soft foam padding for better comfort.
