In the last month, the Indian two-wheeler market witnessed a long trail of launches. While some of these were just added variants of the existing products, others brought a pleasant surprise in an all-new avatar. We have already covered all the launches in detail for our readers on BikeWale. However, let’s take a recap of the top five of them.
While Bajaj already has the Pulsar 125 in its portfolio, the Chakan-based bike maker introduced a new 125cc Pulsar with NS clothing. But it’s not just the design that has been retained from its elder siblings as the perimeter frame has also remained intact. Meanwhile, powering the bike is a new 124cc, air-cooled engine that churns out 12bhp and 11Nm. It is priced at Rs 93,690.
Piaggio introduced the smaller 125cc iteration of its maxi-scooter, the SXR 160. The smaller SXR runs on a 125cc, three-valve engine borrowed from the SR 125 but in a revised form. As for the styling, features and a majority of hardware, these aspects are nearly the same as the SXR 160. The Italian brand has pegged the SXR 125 at Rs 1.15 lakh.
Triumph dropped in its most affordable offering, the Trident 660, in India with a price tag of Rs 6.95 lakh. As the name suggests, it is powered by a 660cc, inline triple cylinder engine that makes 79.8bhp and 64Nm. This is a gem of a motor and you can read about our experience with it here. Underpinning the bike is a tubular steel perimeter frame with Showa suspension and Nissin brakes calipers.
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250
Harley-Davidson launched its first-ever adventure-touring motorcycle, the Pan America, in India. With things like a tall windscreen, high ground clearance and spoke wheels, it is a quintessential ADV. It also comes in a Special variant that gets a few premium add-ons like an electronically adjustable semi-active suspension. Propelling this new Harley is a 1,252cc, Revolution Max engine that makes 150bhp and 127Nm. The standard trim costs Rs 16.90 lakh while the Special model will set you back by Rs 19.99 lakh.
2021 Suzuki Hayabusa
The Indian two-wheeler market was also greeted with the launch of the 2021 edition of the legendary Hayabusa. The hypersport touring motorcycle gets a host of updates in the form of a new styling, revised engine, more premium cycle parts and a long list of electronic aids. All these changes demand a premium of Rs 2.65 lakh over its predecessor with a price tag of Rs 16.40 lakh.
