Top 5 two-wheeler launches in June 2021: Yamaha FZ-X, 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 and more!

The month of June was majorly dominated by big bike launches in India, except for the debut of the new Yamaha FZ-X. While Ducati dropped in two of its offerings, BMW and Honda too introduced a new updated model each. Although we have covered all these launches in detail, let’s take a quick recap. 

Yamaha FZ-X

Yamaha launched the highly-awaited FZ-X in India. Wearing neo-retro clothing, the FZ-X is essentially FZ S FI mechanically. It sports the same engine and nearly identical cycle parts as its modern street bike sibling. However, the main highlight is its XSR155-inspired design and other features like a full-LED headlamp and tail lamp, and Bluetooth connectivity. Prices of the FZ-X start at Rs 1,16,800.

2021 Ducati Panigale V4

Ducati introduced the 2021 iteration of its flagship sportsbike, the Panigale V4, in India. Apart from the BS6-bound changes in its 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale, V4 engine, the track tool has received a few other changes as well. Now, even the standard trim of the bike gets aerodynamic winglets for better downforce that were previously present only in its R version. It is priced at Rs 23.50 lakh and Rs 28.40 lakh for the base and S variants, respectively. 

2021 Ducati Diavel 1260

Accompanying the Panigale V4 on its way to India was its stable mate, the 2021 Diavel 1260. The power cruiser has received mechanical changes while its outrageous styling has remained unaltered. Powering the bike is the same 1,262cc, L-twin, Testastratta engine which makes slightly more power at 159.7bhp but it also weighs 5kg more at 249kg. It comes loaded with top-shelf components along with a host of electronic aids. Prices of the bike start at Rs 18.49 lakh.

2021 BMW S1000R

We also witnessed the arrival of BMW Motorrad’s litre-class street naked, the S 1000 R. The most prominent change has been executed in its styling which looks similar to the F900R now. Meanwhile, the mechanicals are majorly retained from its S1000RR sportsbike sibling. It runs on a 999cc, inline-four cylinder engine that churns out 165bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. Notably, it is claimed to be the lightest in its class at 199kg. Available in three variants, the 2021 S1000R is available at a starting price tag of Rs 17.90 lakh.

2021 Honda GoldWing Tour

Honda’s transcontinental touring machine, the Gold Wing Tour, entered the Indian shores in its new 2021 avatar. It is available in two transmission options – manual and DCT that are priced at Rs 37,20,342 and Rs 39,16,055, respectively. Propelling the full-size tourer is a 1,833cc, flat-six, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to deliver 124.7bhp of power and 170Nm of peak torque. Moreover, there are a host of safety and touring-oriented features on offer.
