What does a description like ‘laid-back’, ‘packs a punch’ ‘blacked-out’ or maybe ‘retro’ remind you of? While it is uncannily similar to Don Corleone from The Godfather, we’re talking about cruiser motorcycles. And we list out five of such motorcycles that will grace Indian shores along the course of this year.
Jawa Perak
The Jawa Perak is a proper specimen of a modern-retro motorcycle. Based on the standard Jawa, the Perak sports a bobber-inspired styling. It gets a slightly longer swingarm and a monoshock under the single-seat. Unlike its other siblings, the Perak also gets completely blacked-out components, engine and drivetrain. Furthermore, it also gets a bigger 334cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 30bhp and 31Nm of torque. Jawa is expected to price the bike around Rs 1.80 lakhs.
UM Renegade Regal
UM Motorcycles seems to have an extensive line-up for 2019. The list also includes the Renegade Regal. The traditional American-styled cruiser gets chrome components as well as some blacked-out parts that lend it a modern custom appeal. It also gets sweptback handlebars and slightly forward-set foot pegs that promise to offer a laid-back riding position. The bike is expected to be powered by a 251cc, oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 18bhp and 17Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The UM Renegade Regal is likely to carry a price tag in the range of Rs 1.3-1.4 lakhs.
Ducati Diavel 1260
Ducati showcased the Diavel 1260 at the 2018 Ducati Premiere last November. Borrowing styling cues from the XDiavel, the Diavel 1260 gets a more muscular and meaner stance. It uses a 1262cc L-twin motor that is good for 157bhp and 129Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Ducati has equipped the bike with various riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, and cruise control. It is also available in a higher-spec ‘S’ model that gets Ohlins suspension and Brembo braking hardware. We can expected Ducati to launch both models here, although with a price tag higher than the current bike which retails at Rs 16.15 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400
Bajaj is all set to launch an upgraded version of their cruiser; the Dominar 400. It is expected to arrive sometime this month with a slight price hike. The major reason of this hike will be due to the inverted front forks. Apart from that, it will also sport a redesigned exhaust canister and radiator guard. Nevertheless, the 2019 Dominar will be powered by the same 373cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 34.5bhp and 35Nm of torque.

Harley-Davidson Iron 1200
The Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 is likely to makes its way to India this year. The bike is similar to the Iron 883 in terms of design apart from the ape-handlebars and slightly different seat which are offered as standard. Underneath the tank sits a 1202cc, V-twin engine that pumps out 98.9Nm of torque. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox and final chain drive. The Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 is expected to be priced between Rs 11.5-12.5 lakhs.
