The Fiscal Year 2019-20 came to an end with the two-wheeler industry reporting negative growth over FY2018-19. Here we list the top five best selling motorcycles of FY2019-20.
Leading the charts of the motorcycle sales for FY2019-20 is Hero MotoCorp’s best-selling model, the Splendor. The brand sold 26,32,800 units of the Splendor during FY2019-20 as against 30,05,618 units in the previous fiscal.
The Splendor was followed by another commuter motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp on the sales chart. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer sold 20,50,974 units of the HF Deluxe in FY2019-20 as against 21,68,740 units in FY2018-19. Both, the Hero Splendor and HF Deluxe led the charts by a huge margin over the third highest-selling motorcycle, the Honda CB Shine.
Hero MotoCorp’s former partner in the Indian market, Honda, secured the third spot in the list of highest-selling motorcycles for FY2019-20. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s CB Shine secured 9,48,384 unit sales during the previous fiscal as against 9,90,315 units in FY2018-19.
The Pulsar series continued to dominate the sales for Bajaj Auto. The Pune-based two-wheeler brand sold 8,56,026 units of the Pulsar brand across various displacement segments. Within the brand, the Pulsar 150 range heavily dominated the charts, clocking 5,04,010 unit sales. The Pulsar 125 was the second-highest contributor to the overall Pulsar sales. The 125cc model registered 1,59,685 unit sales in FY2019-20.
Hero MotoCorp secures another spot in the list of top five highest selling motorcycles for FY2019-20 with its 125cc model, the Glamour. The premium commuter recorded 6,02,623 unit sales in the recently concluded fiscal as against 7,55,027 units in FY2018-19.
