Royal Enfield has been setting the UK sales chart on fire. In India too, the company has been seeing steady growth – thanks to the new generation of motorcycles like the Meteor 350 and the Classic 350. To gain additional market share, the company recently launched their most affordable bike – the Hunter 350. While it will take a few months to understand the Hunter performance in India, we do have sales data for its entire range from July 2022.
Classic 350
This motorcycle always brought the majority of the sales for the company for many years. For last month too, the Classic 350 contributed the most at 32,001 units. This is a decent growth because RE sold 24,947 units in July 2021.
The Bullet 350 is a motorcycle that sells well only in certain states. But it still manages to bring decent sales for the company. It was the second highest selling bike for the brand at 12,200 units and the numbers were more than 50 per cent less last July. The demand for this legendary brand will continue to increase over the next few months as the launch of the new Bullet 350 is due.
Meteor 350
The Meteor 350 was the third highest-selling bike for Royal Enfield last month. A total of 12,000 units were sold which is just 200 less than Bullet 350. In terms of year-on-year growth, the Meteor had a flat growth with 11,562 units last July.
Royal Enfield managed to sell a good number of Himalayan last month. A total of 5555 units were sold in July 2022 which is a big growth from July 2021. That month 3310 units of the Himalayan were sold. We can expect the Himalayan sales to stay flat because there is a lot of the Himalayan 450 news floating on the internet.
Royal Enfield’s flagship motorcycle – the Interceptor 650 has done marginally well last month. A total of 3246 units were sold last month as compared to 2977 units in July 2022. We expect this number to grow in the next few months as the festive season is just around the corner.
