Last month, the Indian market witnessed mixed launches, mainly consisting of big bikes accompanied by the much-awaited neo-retro commuter the Yamaha FZ-X. This month looks quite similar in terms of the launches with three big bikes and two scooter offerings from Yamaha in the pipeline. BMW R 1250 GS BS6
BMW Motorrad is all set to launch the R 1250 GS BS6 in the Indian market on 8 July 2021. The company has also started accepting pre-bookings of the same through its authorised dealerships. The adventure tourer motorcycle will be available in two variants: Standard and Adventure. The motorcycle will feature all-LED lights, Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument cluster, hill-start assist, a USB charging socket, traction control system, ABS Pro and three riding modes (Eco, Road, and Rain). The BS6 version of the R 1250 GS will draw power from an 1,254cc, flat-twin engine. We expect it to be priced between Rs 18-20 lakh ex-showroom.
Fascino Hybrid
Yamaha has unveiled the Fascino 125 at the launch event of the FZ-X. The updates on the scooter include all LED lights, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, hybrid technology and a new Matt Black colour option complemented by golden wheels. The instrument cluster can be connected to the Yamaha Connect X app that displays call and text alerts. The new Fascino 125 is powered by a 125cc engine that now delivers 8.6bhp and 10.3Nm which is more compared to the previous model. We expect it to be priced at around Rs 75,000, ex-showroom.
Ray ZR Hybrid
Yamaha along with the updated Fascino 125 had also revealed the new Ray ZR Hybrid at the launch of the FZ-X. The scooter will be available in two variants: Standard and Street Rally. The updated Ray ZR Hybrid will come with features like a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, new hybrid power-assist technology, an apron-mounted LED headlight and revised graphics across the body. Powering the scooter will be a 125cc, single-cylinder engine with hybrid power assist that produces 8.04bhp of power and 10.3Nm of twist. The company might price the scooter similar to the previous model.
Ducati India has just announced the launch of the Multistrada V4 through a post on its social media handles. The adventure tourer motorcycle will be launched this month. A few of the Ducati dealerships had already started accepting pre-bookings of the bike from April this year. In the international market, the motorcycle is available in three variants: V4, V4 S, and the V4 S Sport. The company might also soon offer the Pikes Peak variant which was recently spotted testing at a European track. The heavyweight ADV might get features like all LED lights, DRL's, 17-inch wheels, cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL). The India-bound Multistrada V4 will draw power from a 1,158cc, 90-degree V-layout, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will produce 168bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. The Italian brand will reveal the prices at the time of launch.
Indian Chief Bobber BS6
Indian Motorcycles had revealed their plan in February this year to launch the Chief range in the country. This range will comprise of three models – Chief, Chief Bobber, and Super Chief. The company has teased the Chief Bobber BS6 on its social media handles which we expect to be launched this month. The cruiser motorcycle will be powered by Indian Motorcycle’s Thunderstroke engine. This motor will sit in a steel-tube frame. The bike will get features like three riding modes (sport, standard and tour), cruise control system, LED lights, keyless ignition, Pirelli Night Dragon tires, 15-litre fuel tank, bobbed rear fender and dual outboard-preload-adjustable rear shocks. The company might soon reveal the price of the cruiser motorcycle at the time of its launch.
Triumph unveiled the new Speed Twin in India last month. Buyers can now pre-book the modern classic motorcycle by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000 at their nearest Triumph dealership. The modern classic motorcycle has received both mechanical as well as cosmetic updates. The updates include a new suspension setup, new braking hardware, new graphics, anodised headlight mounts, new mudguard mounts and 12-spoke alloy wheels. We expect the new Speed Twin to carry a premium over its predecessor BS4 model.
