- 2022 Yamaha MT-10 unveiled
- Gets semi-active suspension
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha recently unveiled the 2022 MT-10 for global markets. And just a few days later, the Japanese manufacturer has taken the wraps off the 2022 MT-10 SP at the EICMA in Italy.
Now, just like the 2022 MT-10, the SP model gets an aggressive-looking front end with the twin LED projector lamps and eyebrow-like LED DRLs. Even the fuel tank has been redesigned. Features like the 4.2-inch colour TFT screen and its electronic suite that includes a traction control system, slide control, wheelie control and engine brake control as well as four riding modes have been carried forward.
The 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP also gets the tweaked CP4 engine with lightweight aluminum forged piston and offset con rods. The revisions have resulted in a bump from 158bhp to 164bhp as well as a wilder soundtrack from the exhaust.
However, the major change to the top-spec SP model comes in the form of semi-active Ohlins suspension with three damping modes- Sport, Intermediate, and Touring as well as three manual settings. Moreover, the SP also gets a lower set belly pan as well as braided brake lines for consistent braking performance.
Yamaha will introduce the MT-10 SP in a Liquid Metal/Raven Black colour scheme for international markets starting next year. That said, the motorcycle is unlikely to make its way to Indian markets anytime in the near future.
