Triumph recently revealed that it will launch the Bonneville Speedmaster next week on 3 October. Specifications of the bike were unknown, until now.
The bike will use the same 1200cc engine as the Bonneville Bobber. That parallel-twin mill produces 76bhp at 6100rpm and 106Nm at 4000rpm. Meanwhile, the Bonneville T120 also shares the same engine although with slightly higher power at 79bhp which peaks at 6550rpm and peak torque of 105Nm at 3100rpm. On the other hand, the Bobber and Speedmaster, being cruisers, get power at lower revs with a bit more of torque.
The Bonneville Speedmaster is expected to be the heaviest Bonneville; hence Triumph used the 1200cc engine with extra torque. Although that comes as no surprise as the teaser images showed the dual discs up front indicating that the bike would get the larger engine.
When launched, the bike would compete against Harley-Davidson’s 1200 Custom. We can expect the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster to be launched in India at the 2018 AutoExpo.
