Triumph is scheduled to launch the Bonneville Speedmaster in the Indian market tomorrow.
The bike is the touring-friendly version of the Bonneville Bobber. It gets a new sub-frame with a removable pillion seat and grab-rail unlike the Bobber. The Speedmaster gets a suspension upgrade with 41mm KYB forks up front and a KYB monoshock that is hidden away under the seat. Stopping power comes from Brembo brakes for the front and a single-disc Nissin at the rear. Triumph has also increased the fuel-tank capacity to 12-litres to boost the Speedmaster’s touring capabilities.
The Bonneville Speedmaster is powered by a 1200cc ‘High-Torque’ engine which produces 76bhp at 6100rpm and 106Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Electronics package on the bike consists of two riding modes- Road and Rain along with switchable traction control, cruise control and ABS.
Expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakhs, the Bonneville Speedmaster will compete against the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and the Indian Scout in the Indian market.
