Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Black edition of its modern-classic offering, the Bonneville T100. The motorcycle sports certain cosmetic changes over the standard model which lends it a factory custom look. It has been priced at Rs 8.87 lakh and we tell you what else you can consider around this price range.
Ducati Scrambler Classic: Rs 8.53 lakh
The Ducati Scrambler Classic belongs to the Italian bike maker’s Scrambler range of models. As its name suggests, it gets certain elements which gives it an old-school appeal such as spoke wheels, chopped aluminum fenders, leather seat and aluminum panels on the fuel tank. However, with LED lighting and fully-digital console, it’s decently modern in terms of features. Powering the bike is an 803cc, L-twin, air-cooled engine which produces 74bhp and 68Nm.
Triumph Street Scrambler: Rs 8.55 lakh
For those who want a pure British scrambler, Triumph has the Street Scrambler which is based on the Street Twin but with a rugged styling and adventure-oriented components. Although the styling is similar to the Street Twin, there are certain differentiating elements such as the high-mounted twin exhausts, spoke wheel and dual-purpose tyres. Propelling the bike is a 900cc, parallel-twin engine which makes 64.1bhp and 80Nm.
Ducati Monster 797: Rs 8.60 lakh
At a price similar to that of the Bonneville T100 Black, you can get your hands on Ducati’s entry-level offering from its iconic Monster family. The Monster 797 boasts of a muscular styling, a trait which is common in all Monsters. While it lacks modern electronic aids, the hardware is premium with cycle parts such as Kayaba front forks and Sachs monoshock. It is powered by the same engine which does duty on the Scrambler Classic.
KTM 790 Duke: Rs 8.63 lakh
The KTM 790 Duke is most modern-looking, feature-rich and power-packed motorcycle of this list. Besides the edgy styling and top-notch hardware, the highlight of the bike is its 799cc, parallel-twin mill which is capable of pumping out a meaty 105bhp and 86Nm. Then there’s the high-end electronics package comprising of lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, launch control, wheelie control and four riding modes. Moreover, the slick six-speed gearbox is coupled up with slipper clutch and bi-directional quick shifter.
