Triumph Motorcycles India will update its portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Bonneville T100 Black edition in our market on June 12. The Bonneville T100 Black will be accompanied by the Bonneville T120 Black edition. Here we tell you what to expect from the Triumph Bonneville T100 Black.
Styling
The Black series will drop most of the chrome bits that are seen on the standard motorcycle. Instead, the Black Edition will feature a blacked-out finish to the wheel rims, engine finish, mirrors, headlamp rim, indicators, and twin-sided peashooter exhaust. The changes, however, will be limited to the all-black finish to the parts mentioned above. The rest of the design, on the other hand, will remain similar to the standard motorcycle, and the Bonneville T100 Black will feature a retro-styling.
Engine
The mechanical specifications of the Bonneville T100 Black edition will be similar to the standard motorcycle. Thus, the upcoming motorcycle will use the same 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, SOHC engine that will deliver 54.3bhp at 5,750rpm and 76.73Nm at 3,050rpm. The motor will be linked to a five-speed transmission and feature a torque-assist clutch function.
Hardware
The hardware, too, will be taken directly from the standard Bonneville T100. Thus, the shock absorption tasks will be handled by KYB 41mm front forks and KYB twin shocks with adjustable preload at the back. Anchoring power will come from a 310mm disc at the front and a 255mm rotor at the back. The motorcycle will ride on an 18-inch wheel at the front and a 17-inch wheel at the back.
Electronic aids
The Bonneville T100 Black will feature dual-channel ABS, ride-by-wire and switchable traction control system. The motorcycle will also use engine immobiliser and a USB charging socket. Optional extras will include heated grip and cruise control system
Price
The standard Bonneville T100 is available at Rs 8,87,400. The Black edition may carry a marginal price premium over the standard model.
