Barely a few weeks after it made its global debut, the Triumph Bonneville T100 has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Retaining all the good bits from its predecessor while adding a new liquid-cooled engine and more technology to the equation, the new Bonneville T100 continues to evoke nostalgia with its classic design and the elegance. The new Bonneville T100 uses the retro recipe with a host of technological upgrades, which has helped it evolve into a modern classic.
The round headlamp, indicators, mirrors and the gauges all hark back to the classic Triumph motorcycles of the late 1950s.
The rear section gets a clean and retro look, with the LED tail lamp assembly providing the sole bling factor.
Apart from being lighter than the Bonneville T120, the Bonneville T100 also has a shorter wheelbase, rake and trail, which make it a good option for beginners.
Powering the Bonneville T100 is a new 900cc ‘high torque’ parallel twin engine, delivering 54bhp and 80Nm of torque.
Despite it being liquid-cooled, the engine of the Bonneville T100 gets cooling fins which boost its retro appeal apart from aiding cooling.
The suspension setup has been tuned to make the Bonneville T100 comfortable for long rides as well as everyday use.
The digital displays in the retro twin-pod console read out the traction control settings, gear position and range to empty apart from the basic functionalities.
The Bonneville T100 comes with an exhaustive list of optional accessories including a Vance & Hines, luggage panniers and seats.
Apart from the Aegean blue/white paint scheme, the Bonneville T100 is also available in orange/white and jet black.
