Triumph is set to launch the special-edition Bonneville T120 Black in India on June 12. With just a few days before it is launched in the country, we tell you what to expect from the Triumph Bonneville T120 Black.
Blacked-out look
The Bonneville T120 Black is true to its name as offers a completely blacked-out look. While it gets the same design as the standard model, it trades the majority of the chrome components on the latter for black finished parts. Nevertheless, it does sports hints of chrome on the twin-pod instrument cluster, spokes, badging and rear suspension. Moreover, the Triumph Bonneville T120 Black also sports a dark brown seat that sets it apart from the standard model.
Parallel-twin ‘high torque’ engine
Powering the Bonneville T120 Black is the same 1200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, engine that is capable of churning out 79bhp at 6,550rpm and 105Nm at 3,100rpm. It comes paired to a six-speed gearbox and a torque-assist clutch.
Electronic aids
Triumph is offering a decent set of electronic aids with the T120 Black as standard. The motorcycle features ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, and two ride modes- Road and Rain. Furthermore, it also gets heated grips, a USB charging socket, an LED DRL, and an LED tail lamp.
Same cycle parts as the standard model
Just like the engine and electronic aids, the Bonneville T120 Black has the same cycle parts as the standard model. It rides on an 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel suspended from 41mm, KYB forks up front, and preload-adjustable twin shocks at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by twin 310mm discs for the front and 255mm disc at the rear.
Price
The standard Bonneville T120 is priced at Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom). However, we can expect the Black edition to be priced at a slight premium of Rs 20,000- Rs 30,000 over the base model.
