-Booking amount is Rs 50,000
- Launch expected in a couple of months
The Triumph Daytona 660 was unveiled a few days ago and bookings in India have unofficially commenced. Our sources tell us that dealers are accepting bookings for the Daytona 660 and customers can reserve the bike by paying Rs 50,000. Triumph is expected to launch the bike in India in a couple of months and deliveries will begin shortly thereafter.
The Triumph Daytona 660 is the company’s new supersport model that’s based on the 660 platform on which we’ve seen the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660. The Daytona 660 has the same 660cc, inline-triple engine but it is in a more powerful state of tune, making 95bhp and 69Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The bike is equipped with traction control and three ride modes- Sport, Road and Rain. As for the suspension, there’s a non-adjustable Showa fork and a preload adjustable Showa monoshock.
Triumph hasn’t indicated the price of the new Daytona 660 yet but we expect it to be priced around the Rs 9 lakh mark. When launched, the bike will go up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Honda CBR650R.
