Triumph India has commenced deliveries of the Daytona 660 across showrooms. The new supersport motorcycle was recently launched in India at Rs 9.72 lakh, ex-showroom. It was delayed for various reasons but customers can finally take home the bikes that they’d booked months ago.
The Triumph Daytona 660 is based on the same platform as the Trident 660 roadster. It bears a sporty design, with a full fairing and twin-LED headlights. It is available in three paint schemes – Snowdonia White, Satin Granite, and Carnival Red.
The bike is powered by a 660cc, inline-triple engine that makes 5bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Triumph offers the bike with a decent electronics suite that includes three ride modes- Rain, Road and Sport.
As for the bike’s hardware, it has a steel frame that is suspended by a Showa SFF-BP fork and a Showa monoshock. Braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by twin 310mm front discs and a 220mm disc at the rear.
The Triumph Daytona 660 goes up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Suzuki GSX-8R.
