- Official unveil to take place on 9 January
- Teaser photo shows the front fascia of the bike
After the Triumph Daytona 660 was spied testing a few weeks back, the motorcycle has now been officially teased. Interestingly, apart from giving a glimpse of its front fascia in the teaser, Triumph has also revealed the global unveil date of the bike which is scheduled to take place on 9 January, 2024.
The Daytona 660 will be based on Triumph’s existing 660cc models, the Trident and the Tiger Sport. Of course, the styling will be different and quite similar to the Daytona Moto2 765 which is the British bike maker’s limited edition offering. As seen, its front fascia gets a split-type wide LED headlamp that is nestled in a sharp and layered fairing. The fuel tank looks muscular but the tail isn’t as long as the Daytona 765. One of the spy shots also reveals the semi-circular instrument cluster which looks identical to those present in other 660s.
Powering the motorcycle will be the same 660cc, inline triple-cylinder engine that does duty on the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660. It churns out 80bhp and 64Nm but the tuning might be different for the Daytona to deliver a sportier riding experience. The chassis seems to be the same as the Trident but with a different sub-frame to accommodate the new tail. It rides on 17-inch alloys that are shod with Michelin tyres and suspended by USD forks and a monoshock. A pair of discs at the front and a single rotor at the back handle the braking duties. The electronics package, meanwhile, is likely to include multiple riding modes, traction control, and quick shifter.
At present, it’s not confirmed whether the Triumph Daytona 660 will come to India. However, considering the fact that both the 660s from Triumph’s portfolio are sold on our shores, we expect the Daytona 660 to certainly come too.
