Triumph has finally taken the wraps off the Daytona 660. It is the third 660cc offering in the British bikemaker’s stable. While the bike wears the Daytona tag, it is notably different from the previous iteration, and here is what you get with the new Daytona 660.
Triumph has designed the new Daytona 660 with split LED headlights topped by a transparent visor. Although aggressive, the Daytona 660’s fascia is reminiscent of the Daytona 675. However, this one appears to get a slightly relaxed rider triangle with its tall clip-on handles. Then, the Daytona 660 also gets an underbelly exhaust. From its side profile, the new Daytona has an uncanny resemblance to the Honda CBR.
Powering the new Triumph Daytona 660 is an inline three-cylinder engine with a six-speed gearbox. It makes 95bhp and 69Nm and the redline is set at 12,650rpm. It comes with three ride modes – Sport, Road, and Rain. Other safety aids include traction control, and ABS. Triumph has offered full LED illumination, and a TFT with smartphone connectivity on the Daytona 660.
It rides on Showa 41mm USD front forks and a preload adjustable Showa monoshock. The Daytona’s brakes include twin 310mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. These are mounted on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 120/70 front and a 180/55 rear tyre.
As of now, Triumph has unveiled the new Daytona 660 and its official launch could happen soon. We expect it to be priced around Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Honda CBR 650R.
