Triumph recently expanded its India line-up by launching the new Daytona 660 with a price tag of Rs. 9.72 lakh. In case you’re wondering what else the Indian market has at a similar price, here are the alternatives.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Rs. 9.10 lakh
If you want a quintessential Japanese supersport, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR costs slightly less than the Daytona. What you get is an inline-four engine that revs up to a staggering 16,000rpm and offers goodies like a quick shifter and adjustable suspension, both of which are absent on the Daytona. It also offers four riding modes, traction control, and a TFT screen with two theme options.
Kawasaki Z900: Rs. 9.38 lakh
Priced almost the same as the Ninja ZX-4RR, Kawasaki also offers the Z900 naked street bike. It’s one of the most value-for-money bike bikes on sale in India. Powering the motorcycle is a 948cc, four-cylinder engine that produces 123.6bhp and 98.6Nm. The electronics package is almost the same as the ZX-4RR but the Z900 misses out on exotic bits like a quick shifter and adjustable suspension.
Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: Rs. 10.30 lakh
This is for those who are fond of two-wheeled adventures. The V-Strom 800 DE is another compelling proposition with a host of electronic aids and Suzuki’s new 776cc, parallel-twin, DOHC engine with a 270-degree crank. Plus, the long-travel suspension, 21-17-inch wheels, and cross-spoke wheels theoretically make it an ideal machine for off-roading.
Ducati Scrambler: Rs. 10.39 lakh
The Scrambler is the entry point into Ducati, one of the world’s most premium brands. Although it’s not an outright scrambler in terms of hardware and capabilities, it’s extremely playful on the road. The lovely design is complemented by a decent number of electronic aids and an 803cc, L-twin engine that’s full of character and delivers great low and mid-range performance.
