- Three custom colours available for each model
- Additional cost of Rs. 15,000 applicable
- Waiting period is around 10 days longer
A Triumph dealership based in Pune, Maharashtra is offering the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X in custom colour options. Notably, this is a dealer-level customisation and is not being carried out officially by Triumph India.
The aforementioned dealership, which is based in the Chinchwad area of Pune, is offering three custom colours each for the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X, and the paint job is being executed at one of the dealer’s own workshops. The showroom is charging a premium of Rs 15,000 over the actual price of these bikes, along with an additional Rs. 2,500 as RTO charges for registering the custom colour. Moreover, the waiting period for these colours is around 10 days longer than the standard trim. The stock colour options of the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X are priced at Rs. 2.33 lakh and Rs. 2.63 lakh, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Both the entry-level Triumphs are charming-looking motorcycles in their stock form itself and these custom colours make them look even more eye-catching, at least in pictures. As for the mechanicals, they are powered by a common 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque. The main difference lies in their styling, cycle parts, and dimensions. However, the feature list is common and comprises ride-by-wire, semi-digital console, type-C charging port, switchable traction control, and dual-channel ABS. Interestingly, the Scrambler 400X gets the option to turn off the rear ABS, which the Speed 400 misses out on.
