- New Speed 400 variant launch on 17 September
- Could be a cheaper model
- Rs 10,000 discount on Speed 400, Scrambler 400X
Triumph India is working on expanding its 400cc line-up in India. The company is planning to launch a new motorcycle on 17 September, and according to the teaser picture, it could be a more affordable variant of the Speed 400.
From the picture sent to BikeWale, it is clear that the bike will get a different seat than the one on the Speed 400. In fact, this one looks like a flat seat but with some custom stitching on it. The bike also has a new red and white paint scheme. The black panel below the fuel tank has been replaced with a grey one. For now, these are the only changes that can be seen from the teaser picture.
It has been over a year since the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X were launched in India. With the festive season around, the company wants to create some excitement around this British brand by introducing a new model. Interestingly, at first, we thought, it could be a special edition of the Speed 400. But Bajaj is unlikely to conduct a press meet for such a variant. So we believe, the company is looking to launch their most affordable 400 model yet, to bring in more sales. Bajaj has also been extending a discount of Rs 10,000 on the Speed 400 as well as on the Scrambler 400X month on month. This clearly shows that the company is struggling to meet the expected sales numbers. With this new model, the company could expect the overall numbers to go up.
The price of this new bike is also expected to be revealed on 17 September, but the deliveries will only begin from October.
