Triumph Motorcycles has recorded an impressive feat in 2014. It sold the highest number of motorcycles since it came back to business in 1984.
The British manufacturer sold 54,432 units, globally, in 2014 as compared to 52,089 units in 2013, registering a growth of four per cent. Highest number of sales came from its home market United Kingdom, where Triumph accounted for one-in-five motorcycles sold with a displacement over 500cc.
The British manufacturer ended its first year in the Indian market with little above 1,000 units, which is a very impressive feat. It opened 10 dealerships in India within 11 months of its operations making Triumph Motorcycles one of the most aggressive premium manufacturers in India, in 2014. The company expects to break this record in 2015, which can be easily achieved if the company launches its new quarter litre motorcycle range. However, as per rumours, the company has halted the development of these small displacement bikes for reasons unknown to us.
