Indian motorcycling enthusiasts will, starting tomorrow, be able to get their hands on the various bikes offered by the iconic British Triumph Motorcycles, after it enters India officially on November 28.
Triumph recently updated its Indian website displaying the numerous motorcycles they plan to sell in India. Apart from the motorcycles, they also updated the various accessories, riding gear and other services they will be offering to the Indian consumer. These motorcycles are classified into a wide range comprising motorcycles from adventure, classics, cruisers, roadsters to super sports. Their Indian sales portfolio consists of the Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Thruxton, Tiger 800XC, Tiger Explorer, Rocket III Roadster, Thunderbird Storm, Speed Triple ABS, Street Triple ABS, Daytona 675 ABS and the Daytona 675R.
Triumph had displayed most of these motorcycles at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2012, but it was only in July 2013 that they confirmed their plans for an Indian launch. The company, recently, also made an announcement that they will turn India into the global manufacturing hub for emerging markets across the globe.
These motorcycles will be brought to India through the CKD (completely-knocked-down) route. The manufacturer has already set up a plant in the Gurgaon-Manesar industrial area. They have also made an investment by buying land in the Narsapura region in Bangalore which they intend to use to build a manufacturing facility to produce motorcycles for the global market.
