Less than a week after opening a new showroom in Chandigarh, Triumph has inaugurated a new dealership in Kolkata. The British manufacturer has been on the front foot ever since it entered the Indian market less than a year ago, and has set up 10 dealerships across the country in quick succession, so far.
Called Mukesh Triumph, the new showroom is located in Matheswartala Road, Kolkata and has been designed according to Triumph’s global layout. The dealership also houses consultation lounge, sales and after-sales desks as well as a ‘Build your own Bike’ facility for customers who wish to create a virtual model of their personalised bike. The team here has been trained by experts from Hinckley, the company’s headquarters.
Speaking during the inauguration, Mr. Vimal Sumbly, MD, Triumph Motorcycles India said, “With the launch of Triumph Motorcycles in Kolkata & Chandigarh, we are committed to setting new benchmarks in providing high quality service experience to our brand enthusiasts and prospects in every part of India. The opening of the two dealerships strengthens our commitment to better establish the brand in the local market.”
Mr. Sumbly also revealed that the company has so far sold 1,000 motorcycles, which is commendable owing to the newness of the brand in the country. The company currently sells 12 motorcycle models from five different segments in India. Going by the rate at which the sales are growing, it seems that Triumph might dethrone Harley-Davidson as the top-selling premium motorcycle manufacturer in the country.
