Triumph Motorcycles has recalled the Daytona 675R and the Speed Triple in United States over faulty suspension issue.
A total of 566 units manufactured between January 1st 2014 and April 1st 2015 have been affected. The Ohlins shocks may have been built improperly, as the nut on the damper rod could become loose, resulting in a loss of damping and the possible disassembly of the shock. Over the last few weeks, the Swedish shocks manufacturer had to undergo lot of recalls due to the same issue. As the company supplies this component to various manufacturers, they had to recall their products individually to fix the issue.
The British manufacturer is in the process of contacting the affected customers. The customers will have to take their motorcycle to the nearest dealer and the component will be replaced free of charge. Triumph Motorcycles sells the Daytona 675R in India as a completely-built-up (CBU) unit, however, it hasn’t sent an official announcement for the recall in India.
