Triumph has recalled c the Tiger Explorer and the Tiger Explorer XC motorcycles which were manufactured during 2012-2013 in North America. The company has initiated this step as the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating data on the certification label is incorrect and the motorcycles fail to comply with the requirement of Part 567 certification.
The British manufacturer claims that incorrect label could lead to rider overloading the motorcycle that may result in handling issues or tire puncture and directly increase the risk of a crash.
The company will be calling all owners of affected motorcycles and replace the labels with the correct Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Data free of charge. Technically this is not a recall for the motorcycle, but with stringent rules in the US, manufacturers are particular about the smallest details.
